About that delay...
Sorry, friends, for the delay - the last two weeks have been upside down.
Let’s knock out a few links, and then I’ll be back soon with my authoritative, definitive take on cancel culture.
First is a piece I wrote for al.com a few weeks back - I ask a couple of important questions for any candidate for office, incumbents included. For my own part, if any GOP candidate continues to perpetuate the stolen election lie, I’m withholding my vote.
Last weekend saw the annual meeting of the CPAC, arguably the largest meeting of conservative activists each year. Will Saletan at Slate suggests that the meeting defined who is and who is not a part of the new GOP.
The controversy over the 1619 Project has cooled off a great deal, and often that’s the best time to reevaluate these things. Cathy Young has a nice piece on this at the Bulwark.
Lastly, a powerful piece by David French on the problems of personal revelation among evangelical politics. Read it and think it through.
Hope y’all are doing well - I’ll be back with something longer soon.
